Free Training for Your Next Job!

The University of Hawaiʻi is offering free job training to qualified Oʻahu residents through the Oʻahu Back to Work program. These short-term employment training programs will help residents learn skills to apply for jobs that local companies are looking to fill today.

Participants can choose from courses in business and technology, healthcare, human services, and skilled trades. Courses will be offered both in-person and online and sign up starts on August 16, 2021. Oʻahu Back to Work courses will be filled on a first- come, first-served basis and qualified residents may take one free job training course.

This free job training opportunity is available to all Oʻahu residents whose employment was disrupted by COVID-19 economic impacts and is financially supported by the City & County of Honoluluʻs CARES Act Coronavirus Relief funds.

Eligibility Requirements for Free Training

Participants must be:

  • Residents of the City & County of Honolulu, and
  • Have their job situation affected by COVID-19 impacts (e.g. furloughed, lost hours, or unemployed)



Participating University of Hawaiʻi Campuses

Participants must be residents of the City & County of Honolulu, however neighbor island campuses are offering online courses to provide a diverse selection of short-term job skill training programs. Classes will be offered by all seven UH Community College campuses (Hawaiʻi, Honolulu, Kapiʻolani, Kauai, Leeward, UH Maui College, Windward) and UH Mānoa Outreach College.
